Having just returned from a delightful stay at Roodekloof, I can confidently say that it offers excellent value for those keen on a memorable escape without breaking the bank. Situated just before Montagu, the location is beautifully scenic and conveniently near local attractions. Our cottage was well-equipped with essential amenities, including a tidy kitchen stocked with cookware and utensils, making self-catering an easy option. I appreciated the thoughtful touches like the electric kettle for my morning tea and the free Wi-Fi that kept us connected without hassle. The outdoor dining area and sun terrace were perfect for relaxing after a day exploring. Pieter and Elizabeth, the hosts, were welcoming-providing fresh rusks and bottled drinks that made us feel right at home. The lovely dam pool was refreshing, especially after sunny hikes nearby. While Roodekloof leans towards the luxurious, its commitment to sustainability and care for the environment resonated with me as a wildlife conservationist. It's a delightful mix of comfort and conscientious living, making it a wise choice for a getaway that supports responsible tourism.
